Learning Esperanto in Six Weeks - Day Two

Two quick observations at the end of day two.

Esperanto is so much easier to learn than German.

I have quite a ways left to go.

I tried to skip ahead in the audio book I'm listening to. The book starts off with several chapters of nouns to memorize, but doesn't describe how to put a sentence together or give an grammar. So this morning I tried skipping ahead to the grammar section.

I think I'll stay with the vocabulary section in the audio book for now. It's hard to internalize grammar concepts that you are listening to.

I am learning grammar at lernu. Today I continued the basic course "Bildoj kaj demandoj" (Pictures and questions) and learned more of the accusative case (which is easier to learn than the accusative case in German) and I learned past tense and future tense.

In comparison, I've been studying German with Duolingo since September and I haven't learned past tense and future tense yet. And this is just day two of Esperanto.

Yesterday I also signed up to get lernu's word of the day email. The email is completely in Esperanto (except info on how to unsubscribe). I didn't understand almost anything in today's email.

The competition is up to 23 people now. I've logged 2 hours so far of studying Esperanto. Someone else has logged four and a half hours.

I better step it up a notch.
