Learning Esperanto in Six Weeks - Day Fourteen

I love YouTube. Sometimes I waste too much time on YouTube, but it can be useful as well. Want to learn how to change oil on your car? Plenty of videos to show you how. Want to learn how to repair drywall. Plenty of videos for that, too.

Want to learn Esperanto? YouTube can help you there, too.

You can look for Esperanto lessons on YouTube. They are kind of boring. Well, at least the three that I watched a week and a half ago.

What I've really enjoyed though is a series of children’s books, animated with subtitles. Here’s one of my favorites: Testudo kun Fluto. (Turtle with Flute)

I like watching these because the speaker is speaking slowly, there are subtitles, and there is vocabulary I don't already understand.

My goal when I watch these isn't to understand every word. I'm trying to understand as much as possible, and learn new words. Then I watch a few more times, trying to understand a little more each time.

I could take this a little farther, I suppose. I could (and probably should) make a list of words I don't understand after a few viewings, and look those words up in a dictionary. I could also (and probably should) read aloud with the narrator, too.
